The Product Analyst is responsible for supporting the Product and Propositions function in ensuring that Brooks Macdonald’s investment products and services continue to meet the needs of our clients.
This role involves identifying opportunities and risks in the management, operation, and distribution of BM’s investment products and services, while supporting BM in meeting its regulatory requirements relating to investment products and services.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of regular structured reviews of BM’s range of investment products and services (e.g. discretionary portfolio management services and funds), including value assessments
* Gather and analyse information from internal and external sources (e.g., business MI, market developments, industry trends, competitor analysis, customer feedback, stakeholder interviews), and provide actionable insights
* Where appropriate, recommend improvements to products and services to ensure positive customer outcomes and support clients in achieving their investment objectives
* Provide regular and ad-hoc product insights e.g. specific competitor analysis, industry news flow, product positioning
* Produce high-quality reports for senior management, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant internal committees
* Maintain high quality relationships with key stakeholders including SMEs across the business
* Assist with regulatory change projects impacting products and services
* Provide regular updates on progress to relevant functional and business executives, as well as steering committees and forums
* Perform role always ensuring adherence to the expected behaviours stated in the FCA Conduct Rules
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Demonstrable experience (minimum 3 years) in a product-related team within asset or discretionary investment management (e.g. product management, product governance, product specialist, RFP, compliance)
* Working understanding of investment products and services (discretionary portfolio management and funds)
* Demonstrable understanding of investment operational frameworks and knowledge of product related regulations
* Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
