Overview
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Support Worker role in the Mansfield and Ashfield Mental Health Support Team, which works alongside schools providing early intervention work and promoting mental health. We are keen to hear from people with experience in a CAMHS setting or those who have worked with children in youth work or as a teaching assistant.
Main duties / Responsibilities
* Delivering workshops and assemblies developed by the team to groups of young people in schools on emotional health and wellbeing.
* Participating in promotional events and parents events within schools and occasional out-of-hours work to cover parents evenings.
* Supporting peer mentoring schemes in schools and working on projects to support service delivery.
* Working under the supervision of the link worker allocated to the schools and in conjunction with the wider clinical team, with opportunities for development through the trust learning and development programme.
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
* DBS check: applicants will be required to pay for the DBS check (£26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced); deduction from salary over the first 2 months. You are encouraged to enrol in the DBS Update Service (£16 per year).
* Full eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to work across sites and in the community.

Qualifications
* Good standard of education or vocational training to Level 3, supported by experience in an educational setting.
Experience
* Experience of working with children and young people in a school setting and/or experience of working with CAMHS with young people and families who experience mental health disorders.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of procedures and practices in an educational environment; safeguarding principles and procedures; knowledge of the role of classroom assistants.
Skills
* IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams); able to facilitate and deliver workshops; strong written and verbal communication; ability to interpret and manage sensitive information.
