Assembler Role Assemblers typically manage all aspects of board-less Electro-mechanical assemblies (Assembly, test, documentation). For downhole tools they are likely to do part assembly before passing them onwards. Assemblers with good PCB assembly skills could be used to assemble small batches of PCBA's for use in tools/R&D development. Qualifications Must have minimal technical knowledge of terminology. Less important to have good circuit knowledge unless looking to progress into Technician. Skills Has ideally worked in building/testing products to a defined high standard, using good solder skills (MIL/IPC class3). Does not have to be oilfield. Solder skills can be taught if candidate brings other suitable skills/knowledge. Electronic circuit knowledge and component recognition will define the type of work that can be done with/without support.
