This role full-time position has a starting salary of £54,636 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

About the Role
The team is based within the Royal Surrey County Hospital which is one of five of Surrey's acute hospital teams and consists of qualified and non-qualified staff.
In addition to the Royal Surrey acute hospital, the team also supports discharges from the community rehab beds at Milford and Haslemere hospitals. Patients are supported on discharge with packages of care to return to living in the community or short term placements under discharge to assessment framework, enabling assessment post-discharge within a set timeframe as they regain their independence to the maximum.
We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager can demonstrate a high level of understanding and commitment to the personalisation agenda.
Key responsibilities will include:
10. Managing and supporting the day to day running of a busy, dynamic team, effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations e.g. managing rotas and attending discharging planning meetings.
11. Confidently making sound decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs that arise in a high-pressure locality team environment.
12. Developing effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families and positive relationships with professional health staff
13. Providing support to the Team Manager in delivering a high quality social care service
14. You will play a pivotal role in supporting staff expedite discharges for vulnerable adults and give specialist guidance and support to staff on managing complex case work.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting, your CV and personal statement should clearly demonstrate the following:
15. Professional Social Work or Occupational Therapy degree and current professional registration with relevant registration authority
16. Significant post qualification experience, including some management experience in a social care setting
17. Demonstrable evidence of providing effective professional supervision to less experienced colleagues
18. An applied and effective knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults' procedures, and of both the health and social care agendas
19. An applied and effective knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework
20. Understanding and commitment to supporting carers and a demonstrable commitment to providing management that supports and promotes Surrey County Council's equality and diversity policy
21. Competent IT skills and willingness to learn a variety of software systems.
Applicants will need to have the willingness and ability to travel across Surrey in accordance with the demands of the work and the job profile.
