Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Laboratory Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
* Perform duties including data entry, sample registration, sample preparation, laboratory stores management/distribution, and use of specialised equipment.
* Receive training to support the liquid nitrogen dispensing service provided to GP practices across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Knowledge, training, and/or experience required:
* Enthusiastic, motivated individual with good IT and keyboard skills.
* Good physical mobility due to manual lifting involved.
* Educated to HNC level or equivalent in Biomedical Science or other life sciences.
* Previous laboratory experience, preferably in healthcare, is advantageous.
Additional details:
* Post 1: Permanent, 37 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm.
* Post 2-4: BANK positions.
* The 37-hour post involves participation in a 24/7 shift pattern, including early, late, weekend, and overnight shifts after training.
Driving Licence / Car Ownership:
A full UK driver’s license and access to a car are required as you may work at either University Hospital Ayr or Crosshouse.
