CNC Machinist

Our client, a leading aerospace precision manufacturer, is looking to recruit a skilled CNC Machinist to join their Derby-based team. This role involves setting and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components to exacting quality standards within a regulated aerospace environment.

Job Description
- Set and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
- Produce accurate, high-quality components while maximising efficiency and productivity.
- Interpret engineering drawings and manufacture components to tight tolerances.
- Inspect and quality check finished components using a variety of measuring equipment.
- Set up and maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and associated equipment.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet production targets.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working practices within the machining area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to quality, safety, environmental performance, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator (certificates required).
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines, including 3-axis and 5-axis machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working to tight tolerances and producing high-precision components.
- Competent in the use of a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment.
- Previous experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Computer literate with strong practical engineering skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and normal colour vision.
