Job Opportunity: Senior Social Worker

We support your professional development in specialist areas such as Approved Mental Health Professional Training, Best Interest Assessor Training, and Practice Educator training.

You will receive regular supervision, opportunities for critical reflection, and support to advance your practice and career.

Our service is increasingly accessible outside traditional hours, operating from 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, to meet community needs. This position is customer-facing, and under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), candidates must demonstrate sufficient spoken English/Welsh for effective job performance, as outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.

We welcome applications from experienced Social Workers with post-qualification experience in Social Services, Health agencies, or related voluntary or private sectors.

You must hold registration with Social Work England and be capable of working at the Advanced Practitioner level within the Professional Capabilities Framework.

Experience in managing risk and conducting safeguarding enquiries is essential.

You should demonstrate expertise in supervising and developing staff, including performance management.

We seek forward-thinking, positive individuals who use strengths-based practice focused on clients' outcomes and goals. Our teams are flexible, locally focused, and collaborative, and we desire practitioners with a similar approach.

A full UK Driving License is required; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for those unable to drive due to disability.

This role is based in the Thanet and South Kent Coast Adult Social Care Community Teams as a Designated Senior Officer for Section 42 Enquiries, emphasizing locality working and good practice.

We promote flexible working arrangements and are committed to diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from all backgrounds and abilities.

Apply promptly as the closing date may be earlier if sufficient qualified candidates apply.

In return, we offer a competitive benefits package, including market premium payments (where eligible), generous annual leave, the local government pension scheme, and opportunities for professional growth through our social care academy and career pathways.
