Senior Mechanical Project Manager

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major healthcare development in Southwest London. This is a key leadership opportunity on a high-profile scheme delivering critical healthcare infrastructure.
The Role
The Mechanical Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of all mechanical services, from initial client engagement through to final handover and completion of the defects period.
This role is integral to ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will act as a senior representative on site, driving performance, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring full commercial and operational control of the mechanical package.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the transition from Estimating through to Construction
Work closely with the Project Director to ensure the project is appropriately resourced
Validate project scope and establish business plans, cost controls, cash flow forecasts, and billing schedules
Prepare and manage key project documentation including procurement plans, design programmes, construction programmes, S-curves, and labour histograms
Implement and enforce project-specific health, safety, and quality plans
Mobilise subcontractors and direct labour in line with the delivery strategy
Ensure all pre-construction measures and deliverables are aligned prior to works commencing
Oversee mechanical systems installation and coordinate with MEP and wider project teams
Monitor commercial performance, including cost control and budget management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Drive programme performance while proactively managing risks and challenges
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on large-scale construction projects
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and MEP coordination
Demonstrable commercial awareness and budget management experience
Solid understanding of HSE standards related to MEP works
Experience managing internal teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Healthcare project experience is desirable but not essential
