Role Overview
Support Workers at Carntyne Gardens provide compassionate care and assistance to service users, helping them live independently and with dignity. Responsibilities include personal care, household tasks, medication support, and encouraging participation in social activities.
Example Shift Pattern (30 hours/week, rotating over 4 weeks)
* Week 1: Mon–Fri (8am–2pm), Sat & Sun (4pm–10pm)
* Week 2: Mon (4pm–10pm), Tue–Wed (8am–2pm), Thu off, Fri (8am–2pm)
* Week 3: Mon–Wed (4pm–10pm), Thu (8am–2pm), Fri off, Sat (8am–2pm), Sun (8am–2pm)
* Week 4: Mon–Thu (4pm–10pm), Fri (8am–2pm), Sat–Sun off
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with household tasks
* Provide personal care, including intimate care
* Prompt or administer medication
* Support with moving and handling, including hoists and equipment
* Promote independence, dignity, and respect
* Maintain accurate care records
About You
* Good communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to work independently (lone working)
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to undertake qualification
* Must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of appointment
* Caring, resilient, and able to manage challenging situations calmly
