Job Purpose:
A vacancy for an AALTO Ground Control Station (GCS) Engineer has arisen within our U.K. Line Maintenance Team. The Zephyr RPAS is a new state of the art, award winning, solar powered ultralight weight electric Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) for use in commercial and military applications.
This exciting opportunity will require you to deliver the Maintenance of the Ground Control Station (GCS) IAW AALTO Policy and International Aviation Regulation to ensure the continuing airworthiness of the GCS.
The successful candidate will be subject to UK/International Security Checks in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for the Setup, Scheduled Maintenance, and Operational Defect Rectification of the Ground Control Station (GCS)
* Responsible for the completion, certification, and retainment of Air System Records
* Responsible for the certification of Maintenance of the Ground Control Station (GCS)
* Reports current known Air System Defects back to the UK at agreed periods.
* Reports directly to the Senior Line Maintenance Manager.
Essential Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Must come from a Communications / Network background.
* Hold a min of 3 years Aircraft Maintenance Experience.
* Understanding of Aviation Authorities and International Regulations.
* Working knowledge of IP and Networking (NET +) in Juniper environment (JUNOS)
* A clear understanding of RF and Satellite systems
* Electrical Safety Certification (BS7671) / 18th Edition or National Equivalent.
* Ability to understand and maintain detailed maintenance documentation and follow process.
* You will have excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and be methodical in your approach.
* Excellent Spoken and Written English.
* Ability to deploy overseas for extended periods

* Aircraft Maintenance Licence
* Previous experience with mission-critical systems
* Previous experience with Design Assurance Levels
* Experience of Unmanned Aerial Systems
* Understanding of frequency clearance
