JOB – Sales Engineer
LOCATION – Remote / Field-Based in the UK
TERM- Permanent
SALARY - £45,000-£60,000, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Oil & Gas and Energy industries. They are looking for a Sales Engineer to join their team based in Southampton on a permanent basis.
The role will involve working remotely / travelling around the UK to visit customers and go to trade shows.
The Sales Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
An educational or hands-on background in Engineering
Experienced in/knowledge of Oil & Gas or similar Energy/Process industries would be ideal
Technical Mechanical Engineering knowledge to understand quotations and queries
Confident knowledge of maintenance, installation and repair
Previous experience supporting customers in a similar technical / sales role would be beneficial
Excellent customer-service skills and a passion for sales
Confident and driven for career progression
Excellent communication skills are required
Be self-motivated and driven
Be keen to develop as part of an organisation long term
A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
The Sales Engineer role will involve:
Identifying, maintaining and developing sales opportunities for the company
Providing technical support and supporting technical delivery of the company’s products and services
Account Management of existing clients
Handling queries and providing quotations to progress further sales opportunities
Visiting customer sites and attending exhibitions when required
Upselling and developing relationships
Working with the Projects Team to convert client requirements into details designs and technical instructions
Processing purchase orders onto the MRP system
