Role Purpose
To support the development, technical operations and quality assurance of the company's products through a range of laboratory-based tasks. This includes conducting routine pH and stability testing and maintaining high standards of laboratory practice. The role is instrumental in ensuring the technical integrity and consistency of products. There is potential for progression into formulation work.
Role Description & Responsibilities
Stability Testing:
Conduct stability tests on finished products to assess performance, physical appearance, and chemical stability over time under various conditions. Record and report findings in a clear and compliant format.
pH Testing and Basic Analysis:
Perform routine pH testing and other basic analytical methods to verify product specifications. Ensure testing is completed accurately and in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Sample Production:
Prepare lab-scale and small-batch samples for internal evaluation. This includes weighing, mixing, and labelling samples precisely.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, organised, and auditable laboratory records in accordance with internal procedures and relevant quality standards. Complete stability documentation as required.
Laboratory Housekeeping:
Support daily lab upkeep, including equipment cleaning, stock checks, waste disposal, and maintaining a safe and orderly workspace in line with COSHH and health & safety regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and suggest improvements to lab practices, test methods, or record-keeping processes. Show a proactive attitude towards learning and supporting broader technical goals.

* Technical and Compliance Manager- Direct line manager, feedback, and training.
* Senior Laboratory Technician- Providing daily direction, and training.
* Mixers (Production)- Collect and request chemicals for replenishing laboratory stock.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:

* Experience of working in a laboratory environment during studies or in a professional setting.
* Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques such as pH testing, weighing, and measuring.
* Understanding of laboratory safety principles (COSHH, PPE, risk assessments).
* Confidence using standard computer systems including Excel and Word.
* Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills- able to produce clear, accurate laboratory documentation and communicate technical findings confidently.
Desirable:
* Prior experience working with household, industrial, or consumer cleaning products.
* Experience with sample preparation and stability testing.
* Familiarity with good laboratory practices (GLP).
* A degree in a scientific subject (BSc or equivalent).
