Duties of the Post
The Specialist Oncology Service seeks a consultant medical oncologist in lung cancer to provide specialist oncology input to Urology cancer services (FV) and Renal cancers at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Forth Valley Health Board.
Clinical Commitments
The successful applicant will take up a post providing medical oncology input to Urology cancer services (FV) and renal cancers (BWoSCC). The specialist services are linked to local and regional MDTs and are supported by teams of existing consultants. Cross cover for clinics will be managed as part of the team.
Teaching, Management, Research and Audit
Activities include clinical supervision of trainees, participation in clinical trial recruitment, and involvement in research and audit. The department offers a well‑developed programme of postgraduate medical education and provides facilities for seminars and meetings.
Research Opportunities
The Centre has a strong track record in clinical research and contributes to local, national and international trials. Patient numbers support recruitment to many studies, ensuring high‑impact publications for committed investigators.
