The role
We are seeking an innovative Assistant Professor in Immersive Arts / Media to join the University of Bristol’s Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC) – a flagship transnational education initiative launching in 2026.

What will you be doing?
1. Teaching & Curriculum Development
Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in immersive arts and emerging creative technologies, including VR/AR/XR, interactive storytelling, and digital media. Contribute to programme design, accreditation, and innovative teaching strategies that enhance student experience and employability.
2. Research & Scholarship
Lead independent research projects, publish in high-impact journals, and pursue research funding. Supervise student theses and creative projects while building interdisciplinary collaborations across the University network.
3. Leadership & Engagement
Participate in faculty committees, student recruitment, and quality assurance processes. Build industry and academic partnerships, and contribute to institutional development and capacity-building initiatives.

4. You hold a PhD in immersive arts/media, VR/AR/XR, interactive or spatial storytelling, or a closely related field.
5. You have proven ability to teach at a high standard and an emerging track record of scholarly research.
6. You demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
7. You have practical experience in immersive experience design, XR performance/installation, interactive narrative, or virtual environment design.
8. You are familiar with tools and technologies such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Blender, motion capture, photogrammetry, spatial audio, and VR/AR hardware.
