The Technical Buyer is responsible for requisitions, raising purchase orders, and expediting, sourcing new vendors, and monitoring current vendors on the Approved Vendor List.
Responsibilities include:
1. Input to bidding process, obtaining quotations for company-designed and bought-in products to meet customer specifications, specific industry standards, and local and international requirements.
2. Working with clients and suppliers to determine timely procurement specifications.
3. Agreeing on terms and conditions with suppliers, clients, and Bekaert, including flow-downs from clients and end users.
4. Procurement of Flintstone-designed and bought-in products to meet contractual and international requirements.
5. Identifying and qualifying new suppliers.
6. Setting up purchasing agreements with key suppliers, visiting existing and potential suppliers, and conducting vendor assessments and audits.
7. Liaising with project teams on schedule issues and assisting in resolving late deliveries and quality non-conformance.
8. Ensuring all suppliers adhere to Flintstone and Bekaert policies, including quality, HSE, and business ethics.
Desirable Requirements of the Job
* Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Qualification
Work Experience
* Minimum 5 years in a similar position.
Essential Specific Skills/Knowledge Needed
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Project)
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Well-organized
