This role begins on Monday, 9th February, and is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in a specialist setting. The Class & Environment Student Profile: You will lead a small, focused class of 7 students with complex autism and additional communication needs. Learning Level: These pupils are semi-formal learners, requiring a curriculum that blends academic progress with life skills and sensory engagement. Support Team: You will be supported by 3 full-time Teaching Assistants, providing a high staff-to-pupil ratio to ensure safety and progress. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, semi-formal lessons tailored to KS3 students with complex ASC. Use communication aids (PECS, Makaton, or AAC) to support non-verbal or limited-speech students. Manage and lead a team of 3 TAs to ensure a cohesive learning environment. Assess student progress through specialised SEN frameworks. Requirements (SEO Keywords) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Proven experience as an SEN Teacher, Autism Teacher, or Special School Teacher. Strong understanding of Complex Needs and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Ability to start on 9th February 2026.
