In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), ensuring they operate efficiently and meet all safety standards. Responsibilities
* Carry out regular maintenance checks and repairs on HGVs to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
* Diagnose mechanical problems and carry out necessary repairs with precision.
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid checks, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles.
* Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operations.
* Stay informed about the latest developments in transport regulations and vehicle technology.
* Follow health and safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
* Assist in training new staff and apprentices in proper repair techniques and safety measures.
Requirements
* A recognized qualification in HGV mechanics or a completed apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance.
* Demonstrated experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a related role.
* Strong diagnostic abilities to identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures.
* Familiarity with various tools and specialized equipment for vehicle repair.
* Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
