Supply Chain Manager – Poole • £65,000 – £85,000 per year
This manufacturer in Poole has big growth plans and needs a Supply Chain Manager who can build something solid for the long term. They’re not after a clipboard manager or a PowerPoint strategist; they want someone practical, commercial and switched on, who can see the whole picture from machining capacity and quality through to cost and delivery.
What you’ll be doing
* Creating and rolling out a proper supply chain strategy that works in practice
* Building strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners in the UK and overseas
* Working closely with the engineering team to make sure drawings and technical packs are right first time
* Taking control of materials and inventory, keeping stock lean without causing stockouts
* Introducing better systems for just-in-time and vendor-managed stock
* Forecasting demand with sales and finance so you’re always one step ahead
* Setting clear KPIs for suppliers and keeping them honest with regular reviews
* Keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes while helping the business scale confidently
What you’ll bring
* Solid experience as a Supply Chain Manager or similar in engineering or manufacturing
* A good grasp of CNC machining and what it takes to get parts made right first time
* Comfortable reading engineering drawings and understanding tolerances
* Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills
* Confidence dealing with suppliers, engineers and senior management alike
* A knack for spotting where things could run better — and making it happen
* Experience with additive or 3D manufacturing would be a bonus, but not essential
