About BBC Studios
A globally renowned media company born of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought‑after TV, audio and digital content.
Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
The Commercial Analyst is the bridge between data and commercial activities for BBC Studios' FAST (Free Ad‑Supported Streaming TV) and branded OnDemand business. The Commercial Analyst turns platform performance data, content analysis and market insight into revenue decisions for BBC Studios’ FAST and OnDemand business. The role covers the full commercial cycle — from evaluating which content to monetise and where, through to optimising platform performance and supporting deal negotiations.
Working alongside Commercial Leadership, the Data & Insights team, Content, Scheduling and Marketing, the role is the primary analytical link between content decisions and commercial outcomes.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Analyse performance data across FAST, AVOD, and SVOD platforms to identify revenue and profit growth opportunities and support budgeting and long‑range forecasting
* Track and evaluate profitability of individual FAST channels across markets and partners, identifying optimisation levers
* Monitor content performance at title and genre level to identify high‑performing assets and inform monetisation strategy
* Assess Amazon Player subscription performance, including pricing
* Contribute to quarterly partner reviews with clear, prioritised, actionable recommendations
* Own cyclical reporting across financial, commercial, marketing, and consumption metrics
* Analyse back‑catalogue performance with Content Liaison to identify the best‑fit monetisation model (FAST, AVOD, SVOD) and build data‑led go‑to‑market business cases
* Support development of automated dashboards for real‑time tracking of content performance and revenue
* Research and evaluate new FAST and streaming partners using a consistent commercial framework (audience, revenue model, content fit, contract terms)
Essential Criteria
Your key skills and experience
* Proven experience in commercial analysis or digital media strategy
* Proficiency in working with large datasets and complex reporting systems, including analytical tools such as Tableau, Excel, SQL or similar
* Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Perplexity, ChatGPT for research, analysis and workflow automation
* Understanding of FAST, AVOD and SVOD monetisation models and the streaming landscape
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights to senior audiences
* Self‑starter with strong commercial judgement, initiative and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
* Comfortable working across cross‑functional teams including Data, Content, Marketing and Commercial Leadership
Desired Not Required
* Experience with CTV platforms and the FAST ecosystem such as Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Pluto TV
* Experience in commercial planning or content yield management, ideally within a matrix organisation
