EduTalent Group are recruiting for a supportive and dynamic SEMH school in Bexhill that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing a structured and therapeutic environment where students are encouraged to re-engage with education and develop both academically and personally.
• Support pupils in the classroom and on a one-to-one or small group basis
• Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
• Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement
• Support pupils’ emotional regulation and social development
• Encourage participation and independence in learning activities
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
• Assist with monitoring pupil progress and behaviour
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing
Requirements
• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
• Understanding of SEMH needs or willingness to learn
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviour
• A patient, adaptable and proactive attitude
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
