NHS Forth Valley is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to join our Executive Team as Director of Public Health. This pivotal role offers the chance to influence and lead across the full spectrum of public health practice, including health improvement, health protection, healthcare public health, and health intelligence.
As a member of the NHS Forth Valley Board and Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership and expert public health advice to the Board, our two Integration Joint Boards (IJBs), and our Community Planning Partnerships. You will play a key role in shaping our response to health inequalities, prevention, and population health challenges across the region.
You will:
1. Lead the Public Health Directorate and provide professional leadership to a skilled, multidisciplinary team.
2. Serve as the principal source of public health advice to the Board and system partners.
3. Drive strategic priorities in Values Based Health & Care and reduction of health inequalities.
4. Champion evidence-based decision-making and population health intelligence.
5. Foster collaborative relationships across NHS, local government, academia, and the voluntary sector.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of public health in a region known for innovation, natural beauty, and community spirit. You will join a forward-thinking organization with a clear vision, supportive leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The role requires the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information can be found at [insert link].
