Specialists in providing engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, Polypipe Building Services leverages offsite fabrication to design and deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors, and local authorities. Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high-rise residential, healthcare, education, and leisure projects for over 50 years.
The role: To provide engineering and specialist support to maintain and improve all mechanical, electrical, electronic equipment, and services across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Engineering Manager & Engineering Team Leader to prioritize workload to meet project requirements and breakdowns.
Coordinate repairs to maximize machine availability and services.
Advise on technical solutions to reduce onsite costs.
Implement continuous improvement programs (e.g., 6S) in all activities.
Ensure knowledge transfer, training, and development for engineers, new starters, and apprentices.
Adhere to all Health & Safety and Environmental procedures.
Skills And Experience Required
Problem-solving and diagnostic skills for breakdowns and planned work.
Assist with planning related to drawings, parts, and cross-functional work.
Knowledge in hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, electrical, fabrication, welding, machining, lubrication, or filtration is advantageous.
Experience with company computer systems (IFS preferred) for data logging and KPI generation.
Project management skills.
Ability to coach and develop apprentices.
Working Hours And Benefits
Monday - Friday, with specific hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
