We’re looking for an experienced, proactive Senior SEND Advisor to play a key role in shaping and strengthening SEND provision across Tyne Coast College.
This is a strategic and operational role, supporting both campuses to deliver high‑quality, inclusive practice for learners with a wide range of needs.
You’ll lead a team of SEND Advisors, manage complex learner cases, and work closely with Local Authorities, curriculum teams and external partners to ensure our students receive effective, compliant and well‑coordinated support.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong SEND background, excellent professional judgement and the confidence to influence SEND practice across a large and diverse organisation.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and line‑manage SEND Advisors, including workload oversight, supervision and CPD.
* Manage a caseload of learners with complex or high‑risk needs, ensuring high‑quality assessment, support planning and review.
* Lead EHCP consultations and contribute to annual reviews, working closely with Local Authorities and families.
* Drive a consistent, graduated approach to SEND and Quality First Teaching across the College.
* Support the identification, application and monitoring of SEND funding, including High Needs (Element 3) and Adult Support (19+).
* Provide expert advice to curriculum teams on statutory responsibilities, reasonable adjustments and inclusive practice.
* Contribute to quality assurance, compliance and continuous improvement of SEND provision.
* Promote an inclusive culture aligned with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
