Following years of growth, our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner based in Portsmouth for a transport logistics business.
You will be working as part of a busy transport team and will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

* HOURS - Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm

Job Responsibilities
* Work with Transport teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest portal.
* Ensure that vehicles due for planned maintenance/inspection/refurbishment etc. are routed to meet scheduled dates and business requirements.
* Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
* Planning daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site.
* Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise.
* Planning approx. 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
* Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPIs.
* Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
Skills Required
* You should be able to comfortably organise your own workload and work in a pressurised environment to meet key deadlines.
* You should be PC literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word in particular.
* You must also have at least 2 years experience in a transport and logistics environment.
* As the successful candidate, you will be able to work on your own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues.
