We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Architecture and Migration Specialist to lead the design, planning, and execution of OpenShift environments and migration strategies. This role requires strong expertise in building scalable, secure OpenShift platforms and managing workload and application migrations. Experience with VMware and Pure Storage is important to ensure smooth integration with existing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Design OpenShift target architecture, including cluster topology, networking, and storage
* Establish best practices for cluster setup, including multi-zone and multi-region deployments
* Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities
Migration Design & Execution
* Assess current infrastructure, applications, and workloads for migration readiness
* Develop detailed migration strategies covering containerization, workload movement, and data migration
* Execute migration plans with minimal disruption and downtime
* Identify and manage risks throughout the migration lifecycle
VMware & Storage Integration
* Design OpenShift solutions integrated with VMware environments
* Utilize VMware tools such as vSphere, vCenter, and NSX to support deployments
* Configure and manage Pure Storage platforms (FlashArray, FlashBlade) for scalable and high-performance workloads
* Ensure performance and compatibility across OpenShift, VMware, and storage systems
CI/CD & DevOps Enablement
* Design and implement CI/CD pipelines aligned with OpenShift environments
* Integrate DevOps workflows using native and third-party tools
* Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring processes
Scalability & Security
* Ensure solutions are scalable to support future growth and workload demands
* Implement security practices including RBAC, network policies, and encryption
* Conduct regular security reviews and ensure compliance with standards
* Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to align with business requirements
* Maintain detailed documentation for architecture, migration strategies, workflows, and configurations
* Provide guidance and training on OpenShift architecture and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in OpenShift architecture design and migration planning
* Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration
* Expertise in VMware technologies such as vSphere, vCenter, and NSX
* Hands‑on experience with Pure Storage solutions including FlashArray and FlashBlade
* Strong knowledge of networking (ingress, load balancing, DNS) and storage concepts (persistent volumes, dynamic provisioning)
* Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD
* Solid understanding of scalability, high availability, and security in cloud‑native environments
* Proven experience in migrating workloads and applications to OpenShift or similar platforms
* Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, and Terraform
* Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills
* OpenShift certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration)
* Experience with multi-cluster and hybrid cloud OpenShift environments
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as oTel, Grafana, and Splunk
* Knowledge of OpenShift Operators and Helm charts
* Experience handling large-scale migration projects
