Senior Project Engineer (CEM/DPE) - Signalling – Rail Infrastructure Projects

We’re working with a leading rail delivery organisation on the lookout for a Senior Project Engineer (Signalling) to support a portfolio of renewals and re-signalling projects. This role is focused on schemes progressing through ES3 (Single Option Identified and Endorsed) and ES4 (Design Standards Approved and Approval in Principle) stages.
Responsibilities
* Technical lead across multiple signalling-focused programmes, ensuring engineering assurance, design coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
* Proactive risk management, compliance, and delivery excellence across the project lifecycle.
* Manage multidisciplinary interfaces and ensure compliance with Network Rail standards and engineering assurance processes.
Key Requirements
* Prior experience as a DPE or CEM is essential to obtain Authority to Work
* Strong working knowledge of Network Rail standards and engineering assurance processes
* Proven background in signalling design, integration, and technical leadership
* Ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and ensure compliance across the project lifecycle
Ideal Candidate
* Degree-qualified or chartered engineer (or equivalent experience)
* Deep understanding of rail signalling systems and standards
* Comfortable working in regulated, fast-paced environments
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
