We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join the Vets for Pets team at Sheffield Drakehouse, located inside the Pets at Home store on Drakehouse Retail Park. The role emphasizes a strong team spirit and genuine care for pets and their owners.
Our practice is based inside the Pets at Home store on Drakehouse Retail Park. We offer free parking for staff and clients and easy accessibility. The location benefits include access to public transport via Crystal Peaks or Drakehouse Lane tram stops on the blue line, with road connections to the city centre and the M1.
About Us
At Sheffield Drakehouse Vets for Pets, we have a team of 2 Vets (the Practice Owners), 3 Nurses, 1 VCA and a supportive administrative team of 3 Receptionists. Alex, one of our Vets, holds a certificate in ultrasonography and we encourage certificates in your field of interest or expertise. Our bright, purpose-built practice includes an advanced ultrasound machine and we are soon to have a dental X-ray machine. We value team spirit and work-life balance, and we enjoy social events during Christmas and summer.
What We Are Looking For
* A qualified Veterinary Surgeon with RCVS registration
* Ideally 3-4 years’ experience in small animal practice and comfortable with both consults and surgery
* Confident in small animal routine surgeries and appointments; you could have a surgical bias or be a consult-only Vet – we are open to your expertise
* Part-time position 20 hours per week on Wednesday and Thursday (10-hour shifts from 8:30am to 7:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch)
* No weekend work
* No out-of-hours (OOH)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A passion for animal welfare and high-quality patient care
* Team player attitude with the ability to work independently
