An established local business, my client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper to join their finance team to work alongside their Accountant and wider office team at their office near Stanway, Colchester. A newly created role, my client can offer this role on a full-time basis or reduced working week.
Your new role
This role will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day accounting and office function, with key tasks including
1. Processing and coding purchase invoices
2. Statement reconciliations
3. Supplier query resolution
4. Bank reconciliations
5. Checking and raising sales invoices
6. Assisting with credit control
7. Supporting with adhoc reporting requirements
8. Supporting with month-end and year-end processes
9. Assisting with general office administration
10. Supporting with project administration
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven track record in a similar role with ledger and bank reconciliations experience. Knowledge of Xero would be highly beneficial, as will a proactive approach to learning new systems and processes. An adaptable approach with a strong teamwork ethic will be key.
What you'll get in return
11. Starting salary circa £28000 - £30000 (dependent on experience)
