Alternative Provision Lead – Salford City Academy
Salford City Academy, an 11‑16 academy within the United Learning Trust, seeks an experienced leader to drive its brand‑new Alternative Provision (AP) model and sustain the highest standards of behaviour across the school.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and model staff and student behaviour, ensuring consistent professionalism in all contexts, including high‑pressure situations and the isolation room (Reflect).
* Design, implement and continuously review systems, structures and curriculum for the AP provision so that vulnerable learners receive appropriate support, challenge and opportunity.
* Coach, develop and inspire senior and teaching staff to deliver disruption‑free learning across the school.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies, aligning all work with the school’s REACT values (Responsibility, Excellence, Aspiration, Commitment, Teamwork).
* Collaborate with the Inclusion Team to manage behaviour, detentions and other interventions centrally, freeing teachers to focus on high‑quality instruction.
Qualifications and experience
* Strategic thinker with a track record of shaping educational programmes.
* Deep expertise in behaviour leadership and alternative provision.
* Strong leadership skills, able to command presence and deliver on high expectations.
* Experience in coaching staff, fostering professional development and enabling collaborative practice.
* Proven ability to manage complex and challenging learners and improve behaviour outcomes.
