We are seeking to appoint a
Fostering Support worker
on a
Sessional
basis to provide support to our Supervising Social Workers and Foster Carers throughout Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester, Tameside, Huddersfield, Salford, Trafford and all places in between.
The role requires a person who can work directly with Children, Foster Carers and other Professionals to ensure quality outcomes for Children and Young people.
Responsibilities include: • Promote the welfare of children/young people placed with Safehouses Fostering and within Five Rivers Child Care Group as a whole. • To be involved in the practice aspects of supporting young people in their placements and to assist in the on-going placement process. • Work directly with children/young people in a skilled and focused way as part of an agreed programme of work, some of whom may have experienced severe trauma. • Co-ordinate groups and joint work for all children/young people, both in the home and community. • Planning, prioritising, and managing own workload. • Collating accurate records and creating meaningful reports. • Supporting each young person in accordance with their care plan, and within the policies and procedures of the agency
We're seeking a caring, passionate, and motivated individual who enjoys interacting with young people.
Candidates must be friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing our young people and carers with high-quality support.
You may work with Children and Young people with a range of complex needs including Learning difficulties, Autism, and Trauma.
You must be able to work as a team member to achieve best outcomes for the children, able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary.
This is a sessional position, which could include weekends and after school hours. A full UK driving licence is required for this role as it involves extensive driving across the above areas.
