About us
We are an organization committed to continuous improvement, driven by a desire to deliver excellent care that satisfies our patients. We are no longer in special measures; we have opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH), and our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.
Our main sites are KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We operate two busy emergency departments serving over 330,000 visitors annually. We are advocating for £35m to transform the A&E at Queen's and eliminate corridor care.
Our facilities include the Women's Health Hub in Ilford, the Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. These CDCs operate 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually.
Our staff, over 8,000 from 146 countries, reflect the diversity of the London boroughs we serve. Many staff members work flexibly, and over 400 participate in our Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
We are also introducing an electronic patient record system to enhance staff efficiency and patient care.
