Job Title: Philanthropy Campaign and Operations Lead
We are seeking an inspiring senior fundraising professional to join the Francis Crick Institute as a Philanthropy Campaign and Operations Lead. Located in London, the Crick is Europe's largest biomedical research facility, committed to scientific discovery and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and implementation of the Crick-specific philanthropy campaign, working with the Associate Director to develop the overarching strategy, scope, and goals.
2. Partner with senior leadership, scientists, philanthropy, and operational colleagues to develop and implement campaign strategies; guide discussions with senior leadership and develop a multi-year campaign plan.
3. Inspire and engage stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of roles and expectations, particularly in collaboration with philanthropy, communications, scientific leadership, and CRUK.
4. Develop a compelling campaign identity, case for support, and donor propositions aligned with institutional priorities, supported by insights from feasibility studies.
5. Oversee operations of the Crick philanthropy program and campaign, monitoring effectiveness and implementing improvements. Collaborate with CRUK teams to utilize systems and data for decision-making, compliance, and performance measurement.
6. Lead a team of professionals to ensure high-quality administration, strategic coordination, and management of campaign activities, including philanthropic income reporting.
7. Work with the CRUK Philanthropy team to develop the senior volunteer strategy and support its delivery through the Development Committee and Board.
8. Manage governance requirements within the Crick, including committees and executive oversight, in collaboration with the Associate Director.
Candidate Profile:
* Experience leading strategic fundraising or engagement campaigns in complex environments with a strong understanding of philanthropy and major gift principles.
* Extensive project management and fundraising operations management experience in multi-stakeholder settings.
* Proven leadership in motivating teams to achieve organizational objectives.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity, analyze problems, and develop solutions.
* Strategic thinker with experience in strategy development and implementation.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging internal and external partners, including donors and senior volunteers.
