As an Accounts Assistant in Bristol, you'll join a team that trusts you to grow, experiment and shape how finance works as the business scales.
How you'll make an impact
Run the day-to-day Accounts Payable process and maintain accurate, well-managed ledgers.
Support the roll-out of AI invoice automation by reviewing, correcting and refining system outputs.
Move suppliers from manual checks to automated processing once controls are in place.
Deliver weekly payment runs, customer refunds and ad hoc payment requests.
Manage the AP inbox, supplier queries and statement reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain timely bank reconciliations.
Raise sales invoices and credit notes for a varied B2B customer base.
Support improvements across Accounts Receivable as new terms and processes evolve.
Assist with month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
Contribute to weekly cashflow forecasting and regular creditor reviews.
Spot opportunities to streamline and automate across AP, AR and finance operations.
Finance keywords included naturally: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end close, cashflow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting conversations.
Why you're a great fit
Essential
Experience in an accounts role with strong Accounts Payable exposure.
Comfortable handling higher AP volumes and weekly payment cycles.
Some Accounts Receivable experience or a clear appetite to develop it.
Solid understanding of debits, credits, the P&L and balance sheet basics.
Confident using Excel and modern finance systems.
Organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Curious, proactive and keen to build a long-term career in finance.
Able to work in Bristol 2 days each week.
Desirable
Experience with NetSuite or AP automation tools.
Interest in AI and digital finance, with a willingness to learn and test new approaches.
