Responsibilities

* Provide a customer focused cleaning service in accordance with Trust procedures.
* Maintain a high standard of environmental hygiene and safe working practices.
* Clean clinical areas, non‑clinical equipment and components manually or mechanically.
* Perform isolation cleans and infection cleans as required.
* Set up and operate Hydrogen Peroxide fogging or UV machine cleaning of areas.
* Carry out asbestos response (AR) to infection cleans, fogging or UV requests.
* Maintain and clean all housekeeping equipment.
* Assist in the commissioning or decommissioning of areas.
* Change curtains and remove dirty linen safely.
* Keep a tidy work environment.
* Follow waste disposal policy, ensuring correct segregation of waste.
* Adhere to building security controls and report problems immediately.
* Cover other clinical or hospital sites as necessary.
* Work unsupervised as a lone worker and be aware of lone worker issues.
* Use own judgement to overcome operational issues regarding day‑to‑day tasks.
* Use cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers and buckets containing water and cleaning solutions, performing low and high cleaning work requiring physical effort.
* Manage exposure to body fluids, physical aggression and other hazards that may occur occasionally.


Qualifications & Key Skills

* Experience in cleaning clinical or non‑clinical environments.
* Knowledge of environmental hygiene and infection prevention procedures.
* Ability to work safely as a lone worker.
* Good customer relation skills, working effectively with patients and ward managers.
* Physical fitness to perform cleaning tasks requiring effort.
* Competence in using cleaning equipment and following standard operating procedures.
* Understanding of COSHH, PPE use and health & safety regulations.


Shift Patterns

* Monday to Friday – 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm (30 hrs)
* Monday to Friday – 4 pm to 8 pm (20 hrs)
* Monday to Thursday and alt Sat/Sun – 3 pm to 8 pm (25 hrs)
* Monday to Thursday and alt Sat/Sun – 2 pm to 8 pm (30 hrs)
* Monday to Thursday and alt Sat/Sun – 4 pm to 8 pm (20 hrs)
* Tuesday to Friday and alt Sat/Sun – 4 pm to 8 pm (20 hrs)
* Monday to Friday – 3 pm to 8 pm (25 hrs)
* Monday to Thursday and alt Sat/Sun – 3 pm to 8 pm (25 hrs)
* Monday to Friday – 6 pm to 10 pm (20 hrs)
