Safeguarding & Wellbeing Practitioner
Location: Bristol Campuses – WISE and Filton Campus
Full‑time equivalent salary: Up to £31,815.00 (dependent on qualifications and experience). Actual salary: Up to £28,317.02.
We are looking for dynamic, empathetic individuals to join our Wellbeing Services team as a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Practitioner, supporting the students at either our Filton or WISE Campus. This role is about walking alongside our learners—especially those facing challenges—and helping them feel safe, seen, and supported.
Key Responsibilities
* Build trusting relationships: Offer 1:1 wellbeing support to learners, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.
* Champion learner success: Work closely with tutors, families, and external partners to help learners stay engaged in college life and reach their goals.
* Safeguarding with care: Serve as the named Safeguarding Officer, being a key point of contact for concerns, responding with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Collaborate for impact: Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure learners receive the right support at the right time.
* Support specific groups: Provide focused support to students with Social Worker status, Children Looked After, Care Leavers, and Young Adult Carers, helping them navigate college life with confidence.
Qualifications & Beneficial Skills
* Experience supporting young people (14+) with emotional, social, or mental health needs.
* Trauma‑informed approach valuing dignity, choice, and empowerment.
* Knowledge in areas such as youth work, health, housing, education, or social care.
* Confidence in maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a team.
