Their in-house legal function is a respected and embedded part of the business, partnering closely with key stakeholders to support innovation and maintain regulatory excellence.
This opportunity sits within the Specialist Legal Team supporting regulated lending, including residential mortgages and broader consumer finance. The role will appeal to ambitious junior lawyers who are keen to build a long-term in-house career in financial services law.
The Role
As part of the specialist regulated lending legal team, you will:
* Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of mortgage products, consumer credit, and other retail lending offerings.
* Support the design and delivery of new lending propositions and strategic projects.
* Advise on regulatory change and horizon scanning (e.g. FCA rules, Consumer Duty, MCOB, CCA).
* Draft, review and negotiate a variety of documents including policy materials, product terms, and stakeholder guidance.
* Engage closely with legal colleagues, compliance, risk, and product teams across the business.
* Contribute to team know-how, training, and legal risk management initiatives.
About You
* England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent), with 0–3 years’ PQE.
* Strong interest in retail finance or regulatory law – experience in mortgages, consumer credit or general banking/finance desirable.
* Experience gained either in private practice or via an in-house secondment (ideally with a bank or financial institution).
* Clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging with non-legal stakeholders.
* Commercial mindset, collaborative approach, and a commitment to professional development.
