About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils in managing behaviour, developing social and emotional skills, and accessing the curriculum effectively.
Responsibilities:
Support pupils in managing behaviour and following classroom expectations.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing behavioural guidance.
Encourage positive social and emotional development.
Assist teachers in creating and implementing behaviour management strategies.
Monitor and report on pupil progress and behavioural improvements.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
Support pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.
Help develop strategies for promoting self-regulation and confidence.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Support pupils in achieving academic and personal goals.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, particularly in behaviour support or a similar role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children.
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ in Childcare/Teaching Assistant/Education are desirable.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
