Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology to join our neuropsychology and rehabilitation services. The post is funded to aid the development of psychologically informed care in stroke rehabilitation across the system.
Location and Organisation
Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC). Location: Moseley Hall Hospital, Alcester Road, Birmingham, B138JL.
Salary and Conditions
Band 8c, Salary £76,965 to £88,682 per annum pro rata. Contract: Fixed term, 12 months. Working pattern: Full-time or Part-time (32 hours per week is stated; applications from those seeking fewer than 32 hours per week may be considered).
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical neuropsychology service provision within the Solihull Adult Neurorehabilitation Team and work with multidisciplinary colleagues to develop screening protocols and training for stroke rehabilitation staff.
* Develop and implement highly complex formulations and plans for formal neuropsychological treatment and/or management of clients with highly complex psychological problems.
* Lead on scoping the need for psychological services in community stroke rehabilitation across Birmingham, Solihall and surrounding areas and contribute to staffing models and investment cases.
* Provide supervision and leadership to psychological professionals within BCHC's community Neurorehabilitation services, supported by the Divisional Lead Consultant Psychologist.
* Disseminate evidence-informed psychological practice by developing protocols, guidelines and procedures for multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* Essential: Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent for those trained before 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan development.
* Essential: Postgraduate diploma or equivalent accounting for the underpinning knowledge component of specialist training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
* Desirable: Full eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
Experience
* Essential: Extensive post-qualification experience in highly specialist assessment and treatment of rehabilitation patients; extensive clinical experience in Neuropsychology Services; experience of service development in a multidisciplinary context.
* Supervision of qualified/assistant/trainee psychologists; involvement in clinical research, staff consultancy, teaching and staff support roles; experience with diverse client groups and MDT work.
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work on own initiative with sound judgement.
* Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills; ability to work across professional and organizational boundaries.
* Knowledge of national policy and guidance for rehabilitation services.
Personal Qualities
* Confident in collaboration with peers; organized with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
* Change agent capable of delivering service improvements; dynamic in approach to service delivery.
* Ability to travel independently to meet service needs and to work within a multicultural framework.

* UK registration and eligibility for skilled worker sponsorship as applicable; DBS disclosure required as per policy.
