Reporting directly to the Vertical Financial Controller (VFC), the Finance Manager will support the VFC and the business unit General Managers by leading the day-to-day accounting, financial and commercial processes of the Hard Goods/Financial Services vertical market portfolio.You will lead and direct the finance function and assist the Vertical Market Manager in balancing financial, commercial and compliance matters across the portfolio.ResponsibilitiesSome of the key responsibilities for this role will include:Provide financial and operational advice to GMs, to balance and achieve the performance and growth objectives of the portfolioLead the preparation and updating of the monthly/quarterly QSR reporting for European business units within the portfolioEnsure the successful completion of the monthly and quarterly financial deliverables for the vertical market, ensuring compliance to Group timetable deliverablesDisplay a high level of commercial acumen and provide insight/support to the business to help optimise the operational performance of the vertical marketTake a leading role in the ongoing financial integration of newly acquired companies within the vertical market in EuropeEnsuring effective formulation, documentation, and adherence to Vela APX and vertical market company processes, policies, and proceduresAbout YouYou will enjoy using your initiative and looking for ways to continuously improve processes and increase efficiency with the team. You will have a strong technical background and enjoy the challenges that come with leadership. You will be able to demonstrate the following:A relevant formal tertiary qualification in Accounting/Business and ACA/ACCA Qualified or equivalentMinimum 5 years of professional experience in a related role, preferably within a commercial environment (listed experience desirable but not essential)Solid understanding of core accounting principles and applicable accounting standards (IFRS, A-IFRS)Sound problem solving and analytical skillsFlexibility and agility in working with a broad finance team across multiple time zonesHighly effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentational)Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with high attention to detailHigh level of computer literacy, including computerised accounting packages and MS Office productsEnergy and self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously and in a team environmentA desire to lead and manage a team to successful outcomesWhy join Vela APX?At Vela, we believe in taking care of our team.
