The Emergency Department at Salisbury District Hospital is a small District General Hospital in a rural location serving Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. It is a Trauma Unit aligned with the MTC at Southampton, seeing around 58,000 attendances per year, 25% of which are paediatric. The department handles a full range of EM patients, with a large military population due to proximity to Salisbury Plain, leading to varied trauma cases.
Interview date: Wednesday, 2nd April.
Main duties of the job
The department is developing its services and seeks individuals interested in supporting innovation and service development. We are keen to recruit those with interests in PEM, Older Persons Medicine, and related fields. We support those on the CESR pathway to CCT, focusing on education, simulation, and supporting Trust grade Fellows. We are developing an ACP/PA workforce and encourage applicants interested in establishing or developing such teams. Candidates interested in PEM are especially encouraged as we move towards an integrated PED/DAU service for paediatric patients.
The Trust is a tertiary referral unit for spinal injuries and has a regional Burns and Plastics Centre. As a small Trust, there are close links with other teams to develop innovative services.
