We are looking for a Trainee Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team and create a real impact by supporting the team in all aspects of Scapes procurement activity and approaches to ensure that Scape maintains its position as expert in the field. Your new role We provide value for money and sustainable procurement solutions so that the public, future generations, and our shareholders can provide benefits for local communities, creating a world everyone deserves. Join us and take the opportunity to: Assist in all group and subsidiary procurement activity as required. Support in all activities of pre and post procurement, including research and development, market engagement, scoring/evaluation of submissions, moderation and feedback. Assist in the application of the contract procedure rules and appropriate legislation, including the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and The Procurement Act 2024, under the guidance of the Senior Procurement Manager. Assist the procurement team in cross-functional projects to deliver procurement projects. Assist internal stakeholders in following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures. Support as appropriate any initiatives/projects which contribute to SCAPE achieving its procurement objectives, including the development ofstandards, strategies, processes and standard documents. Assist in the provision of procurement advice and guidance as required. Act as support for the digital contracts processes embedded in the SCAPE frameworks, using the DocuSign e-contract platform and internal SCAPE systems, developing and maintaining templates, and ensuring continuous improvement. What you will bring An interest in working within procurement, consultancy, or construction services. An interest in developing best practice outcomes and offering guidance/advice. An interest in the private or public sector, working with customers/clients, stakeholders, and partners to help deliver successful outcomes. A willingness to develop knowledge of the Regulations and legislation including EU and UK procurement legislation. Well-developed interpersonal skills to enable the post holder to exercise tact, diplomacy and reconcile differences within Stakeholder Groups. A basic understanding of sustainability in the workplace, and be committed to support the business with its carbon reduction strategy.
