Job Description
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is establishing the new Building Safety Division (BSD) with the aim of creating high standards of safety for high-rise buildings and ensuring residents feel safe within their homes.
Working with residents and industry stakeholders, BSD will oversee changes to the safety and performance of all high-rise buildings and aim to raise industry professional standards year on year.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct audits into Local Authorities and Private Sector Building Control Services across England.
2. Deliver risk-based audits of Regulatory Building Authorities (RBAs) to ensure competence within the designated portfolio.
3. Monitor and manage the performance of current cases, escalating risks and issues to the Audit Manager.
4. Support enforcement processes and procedures, ensuring the consistent application of Enforcement Guidance tools to make appropriate risk-based decisions.
5. Handle enforcement actions when necessary, addressing issues that require such interventions.
