The main duties and responsibilities of this role: Demonstrate exceptional culinary skills in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with the hotel's standards. Collaborate with the executive chef and sous chef in creating innovative and enticing menus, considering guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices in the kitchen. Work closely with other members of the culinary team, providing support and assistance as needed, and contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment. Maintain a keen focus on quality control, conducting regular inspections of ingredients, finished dishes, and presentation to uphold the hotel's culinary excellence. Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow established recipes, techniques, and presentation standards. Manage and control kitchen inventory, including monitoring stock levels, and minimizing wastage to optimize cost efficiency. Ensure strict compliance with the hotel's culinary standards, policies, and procedures, striving for continuous improvement in food quality and service. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to address guest feedback and preferences, ensuring a seamless dining experience and high levels of customer satisfaction. Execute assigned sections of the menu during service periods, maintaining consistency, speed, and precision in food preparation and presentation. About you: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: Formal culinary training or relevant education from a recognized culinary institute. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on high-end or luxury hotel environments. Proficient in various culinary techniques, cooking methods, and a diverse range of international cuisines, demonstrating creativity and innovation. Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including coordinating with other kitchen staff and maintaining a well-organized and clean work area. Certification in food safety and hygiene, ensuring a deep understanding of safe food handling practices and compliance with health and safety regulations. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen colleagues, sous chefs, and other staff members, contributing to a positive and efficient working environment.
