I am energetic, sociable, chatty, enthusiastic and will give anything a try once. My interests are biking swimming, trampolining and overall being active. I have Global Development Delay. This affects me by being repetitive in my questions. PURPOSE OF JOB To provide respite for my mother as well as help me be more independent and gain confidence around new people and social situations. HOURS OF WORK 3 hour per week, Thurs 4pm – 7pm School Holidays – 5 hours per week, day and time tbc RATES OF PAY £14.50 per hour 40p mileage allowance TASKS INVOLVED Taking me to an activity after school, the activity will change from one week to the next from shopping, trampolining or swimming Participating in the activities with me Making sure I am safe when out – I don’t have an understanding of road safety Making sure I don’t speak to strangers Remind me to use the loo – I am fully able to manage my own personal care apart from some reminders needed TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who is patient and understanding An energetic and sociable person, similar to me Someone who is fun to be with Car driver with access to own car ABOUT THE JOB This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
