Aspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic and highly supportive specialist provision in Shrewsbury. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September, offering an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people across a wide age range, from EYFS through to 16+.
This provision supports pupils with a variety of additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties. The setting is committed to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every learner is supported as an individual and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
You will be joining a dedicated and experienced team who work closely together to ensure consistency, care, and high-quality support for all pupils. The staff team is incredibly supportive, collaborative, and passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people who require additional guidance and understanding.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who has strong experience in SEN and is confident working with a wide age range and varying levels of need. You must be resilient, patient, and able to adapt your approach depending on the individual needs of each pupil.

* Supporting pupils aged EYFS through to 16+
* Working with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and complex needs
* Providing 1:1 and small group support
* Helping pupils regulate behaviour and emotions
* Supporting engagement in learning and life skills
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff

* Have proven experience working in SEN settings (essential)
* Be confident supporting a wide age range (EYFS-16+)
* Have experience with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or complex needs

* Have strong behaviour management skills
* Be committed, reliable, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
Due to the complexity of needs within this setting, prior SEN experience is essential for this role.
