Location: Midlands/ North (Hybrid, with up to 50% domestic travel)
An excellent opportunity to lead the commercial function of a multi‑site manufacturing business supplying both commodity and bespoke solutions into the industrial and construction sectors. The Sales Director will take full responsibility for national sales performance across several business units, leading a team of regional and product‑specific managers while remaining directly engaged on the company’s largest and most complex customer accounts, projects and tenders.
This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic direction with hands‑on commercial activity. You will set the tone for high performance, build consistency across teams, and ensure customer focus and profitability remain at the centre of growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop national sales teams across multiple departments and business units
* Define and deliver the commercial strategy across both commodity and bespoke product lines
* Personally lead major projects, key accounts and complex tender negotiations
* Drive new business development and strengthen long‑term customer partnerships
* Oversee forecasting, pipeline management and sales reporting to board level
* Work collaboratively with operations, engineering and finance teams to align delivery, pricing and profitability
* Implement consistent performance frameworks, targets and accountability across the group
* Represent the business with credibility and professionalism at customer and industry level
About You
* Proven experience in senior sales leadership within manufacturing, industrial or construction‑related sectors
* Strong background managing mixed product and service portfolios, combining commodity and engineered solutions
* Commercially astute with experience leading high‑value tenders and complex negotiations
* Strategic and data‑driven, while remaining active in the market with key customers
* Skilled communicator and motivator, experienced in leading multi‑site and multi‑discipline sales teams
* Based in the Midlands or North with flexibility for up to 50% UK travel
