Specialist Occupational Therapist – Stroke Rehabilitation
Location: George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, Therapy Services.
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.

Job responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments (cognitive, ADL, functional) and devise individualized rehabilitation programmes.
* Plan and deliver treatments, including group sessions, to support patient recovery and facilitate discharge to community stroke services.
* Work autonomously with a specialist clinical caseload and take responsibility for clinical decision‑making.
* Supervise and train junior qualified therapists, therapy assistants and undergraduate students.
* Participate in service development, quality improvement, audit and multidisciplinary planning.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with NHS policies and the British Association of Occupational Therapists Code of Professional Conduct.
Qualifications & Professional Training
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registration with HCPC.
* Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) maintained in a portfolio.
* BAOT membership.
* Involvement or membership in a relevant Special Interest Group.
Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum 18 months to 2 years post‑graduate experience in a specialist clinical area.
* Previous experience within stroke or other acute NHS setting.
* Band 5 rotational experience.
* Supervisory experience and contribution to the clinical education of less experienced staff.
Skills & Abilities
* Strong knowledge of clinical governance and evidence‑based practice.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including ability to provide and receive complex and sensitive information.
* Physical dexterity, coordination and manual handling skills for assessment and treatment.
* Capacity to prioritise and organise workload and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* IT skills: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
