We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic teacher to inspire pupils in Geography to start in September 2025 for one fixed term until December 2025. We are seeking a candidate to teach Geography to pupils from Year 9 to Year 12 and have high expectations, dynamism, and excellent communication skills.
Geography is a popular subject at Bryanston. In Year 9, students study contemporary issues, this year including development, extreme environments, globalisation and climate change. While the subject is optional at GCSE, it still attracts around 60 students out of 130 to the subject in each of Years 10 and 11. They follow the Edexcel iGCSE specification, studying the coasts, tectonics, economic activity, rural environments and development topics. In the Sixth Form we teach the CIE A level and have 25 to 30 students taking the subject. Usually over 35% of the students gain an A* or A grade at A level, with 90% gaining A-C grades.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School will conduct an online search of any applicant invited for interview. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
