We are currently supporting a welcoming primary school on the Wirral who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work within a Year 1 class on an ongoing supply basis, starting ASAP.
This role will involve supporting pupils within the classroom, including children with additional needs, so SEN experience is essential.
The Role:
1. Supporting within a Year 1 classroom
2. Providing 1:1 and small group support
3. Assisting with phonics and early literacy
4. Supporting pupils with SEN to access learning
5. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
We’re Looking For:
6. Experience working in KS1
7. Proven experience supporting children with SEN
8. Strong behaviour management skills
9. A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
10. Reliability and ability to commit to ongoing supply

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
25. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
26. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
27. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
28. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
29. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
