About the Role
The role of Investigation Case Builder is to reduce the administrative burden on operational officers by upgrading prosecution files in accordance with National File Building Standards and presenting specified cases at Magistrates court, dealing with queries, legal matters, and applying for costs.
Responsibilities
* Upgrade prosecution files in accordance with National File Building Standards.
* Present specified cases at Magistrates court.
* Deal with queries and legal matters.
* Apply for costs.
Qualifications
* Qualified to Level 4 in Business / Criminal Justice or other relevant subject.
* Significant experience of law / police procedures.
Required Skills
* Excellent knowledge of National File Standards, Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, and Criminal Procedure Rules - Desirable
* Knowledge of relevant Force IT specifically Origin, Cybertech, Storm, DEMS, PNC, Fotoware (not exhaustive) and the Criminal Justice System exchange - Desirable
* Ability to keep up to date with changing requirements for digital case file assembly.
* Experience of using Niche RMS and the Criminal Justice exchange within the Criminal Justice framework - Desirable
* Ability to plan and organise, manage priorities, balancing resources and work to deadlines.
* Experience of working with Criminal Justice Partners - Desirable
* Demonstrate adaptability within a constantly evolving Criminal Justice system.
* Clear and demonstrable professional and ethical standards in line with all force policies.
Preferred Skills
* Flexibility about different ways of working.
* Understanding of how changes in Criminal Justice affect the wider community.
